Family Fun on the Fourth of July

Posted by Danielle

Summer time is definitely a season for celebration, decoration and lots of delicious food.   The 4th of July is right around the corner and I can’t wait to try out some fantastic Independence Day ideas to showcase our red, white and blue!  Here’s your invitation to join in the fun.  Grab your flag, wave it proudly and let the patriotism begin!

Here are some ideas to celebrate America…..

Red, White and Blueberry Cheesecake Yogurt Cupcakes from
These mini cheesecakes pack a bunch of fruity goodness in each bite and are healthy, too!  Put your chef hats and aprons on and get into the kitchen!  You might have to make a few batches to share at a 4th of July party…

Fourth of July Bike Parade from
How about a bike parade to kick-off the 4th of July festivities?  Invite your friends to wheel their bikes over for a decorating extravaganza!  There are loads of creative red, white and blue ideas for a fabulous neighborhood event.  Everyone can bring craft supplies to share for decorating bikes, trikes and scooters.

Patriotic Berry Trifle from Sunny Anderson
The most wonderful thing about trifles is assembling them…it is super-easy and fun!  Everyone can help out adding different colorful layers.  This recipe saves a bit of time by using a pre-made cake, allowing you more time to eat and enjoy your company!

Flag Pizza from
I LOVE pizza!  There are usually lots of hot dogs and hamburgers at a 4th of July grill-out, why not change the pace this year by adding a flag pizza?  This healthy version is absolutely delicious and does America proud with its  awesome flag design.  You can also make this pizza on the grill (directions on the website).

I am definitely ready to invite my friends over for a 4th of July party!  Maybe I will make some red-white-and blue invitations and make it extra-special!  Ask mom, dad or another trustworthy adult for help in any of these activities.  Here’s wishing you the most superb, fantastic and high-flying 4th of July ever!!

Have a red, white, blue and sparkly 4th!!
