Yes, it’s another ornament. Sophia and I made a bunch for our additional Christmas tree and they turned out so cute I had to share them. They’re all pretty easy and fun for a cold afternoon activity. Plus, for this one, all you need is glue, glitter and toilet paper rolls, which I’m sure you have on hand.
As usual, here is what you need and the how-to for making ’em.
What you need:
-Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
-Fishing line or string for hanging
Step 1 – Cut Cardboard Strips:
First, flatten your toilet paper roll so it’s flat that way you’ll end-up with flattened circles, like you want. Cut strips about 1 inch wide. You need 4 strips per ornament, so cut as many as you want for as many ornaments as you’ll be making.
Step 2 – Glue Strips Together:
Once you’ve got your strips, it’s time to glue them together. To do so, drop a dot of liquid glue in the middle center of one of your strips. Next. Slide it through another strip at a 90 degree angle and hold it to secure it. Do this with the remaining two strips, centering them between each of the remaining openings. Let it dry before proceeding to step 3.
Step 3 – Add Glitter:
Now it’s time to to sparkle up your snowflake. Rub glue over the surface of the snowflake and then sprinkle it with your glitter–use whatever color you want. We stuck with blues, whites, pinks and just clear. Let it dry and then do the other side.
Step 4 – Add String for Hanging:
Once both sides of your ornament are dry, you can add a string or fishing line for hanging it on the tree. Just string it though one of the loops and tie.
Now you have another sparkley ornament for your holiday tree! Let us know what you think of this ornament–leave a comment!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
