The holidays are almost forgotten, and the excitement of the new year has slowly turned into the winter blues. You’re about to enter wintertime survival mode while cooped in the house deprived of sunshine and outings that won’t give you frostbite. Revive your winter and restore your good moods with the following beat-the-blues ideas:

Floral Accents
Cure cabin fever and create an alfresco atmosphere in your wintry home with a variety of fresh flowers. Handpick individual flowers from your local farmer’s market or treat yourself to a special flower delivery from FTD.com. Stunning red roses or a floral arrangement adorned with tangerine-colored Asiatic lilies, fuchsia carnations, lavender chrysanthemums, and lush foliage can reinvigorate any indoor space plagued by the cold winter months. For a more lively and earthy kitchen, fill wall shelves and countertop corners with potted plants and flowers in canning bottles with rubber gaskets, vintage canisters, wine bottles, or Ball Heritage mason jars.

Chef’s Hat
While hibernating, re-connect with your kitchen. Embark on a culinary adventure at least once a week by cooking up a unique dish, whether you’re cooking for your family, yourself or for a hot date. Challenge yourself to cooking unique recipes with healthy flair and special ingredients, and then share your kitchen journeys on Instagram. Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP offers original GOOP creations and other delicious dishes that will excite all the senses. You’ll find mouthwatering recipes like butternut squash taviolini, cannellini bean and quinoa burgers and tuna tomato bowl. Spa Indulgences
While locked away indoors, pamper yourself and escape the frost by indulging in spa-like relaxation and treatments. First, use candles to create your very own sanctuary where you can daydream of summer getaways and wander off to faraway places. Splurge on a caramel toffee or apple cinnamon LUSH bath bomb for a sweetly scented bath, or drop in an enchanted forest or dreamy lavender bath bomb for sensual aromas. Bubble bars and luxury bath melts can also whisk you away to exotic beaches and fantasy lands. Turn your bath into shimmery gold water by dropping a Sunny Side bubble bar into the tub, and moisturize your skin with Floating Island bath melts. After your DIY spa session, make a cup of hot tea, and you’ll be reminded of winter’s beauty.

Hand-Painted Fancy Glasses
Unleash your creativity by making floral painted party glasses by A Subtle Revelry. Anthropologie featured the retro glasses on its Crafts We Fancy Pinterest board, and the homemade fancy glasses will indeed make drinking anything fun and stylish. Find a floral pattern to use as a template and place it inside a vintage glass. Use glass paint to trace the design. Use your own creativity to brush on organic vertical stripes, hearts, stars, or monograms. Fill your painted party glasses with sparkling apple cider for the whole family or with your favorite red wine for a quiet evening reading.
