Super Simple Felt Hearts

Posted by the Mom (aka Kelly Biedny)

For valentines day one year my siblings and I got these cool  felt hearts on the end of a ribbon with our gift from our parents. My mom made them and I thought they were the coolest thing.  I hung mine from the light pull in my room for the longest time–I think I still have them in a memory box somewhere.

When we were thinking of some cool decorations we could make for the house this valentines, these came to mind right away and I had to share them with you!  You could use them for lots of things and make them any size. Sophia is going to use this set for a bookmark, but I plan on making more to use around the house as the pulls on our fan lights during the Valentine’s holiday.

They are better for older kids to help make because of the needle work. But, you could use hot glue instead of the hand sewing, and then decorate with some fabric paint.

Here’s what you’ll need to make your:

  • Felt in whatever color you want your hearts
  • String to match your felt for sewing the edges
  • A bit of stuffing to make them puffy in the middle
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun (if you choose not to sew)
  • Fabric Paint (optional)

For the steps, we’re trying something different today…all in pictures…let us know what you think!

 Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Love the thought of putting these on a light pull! When my daughter gets a little older (she’s 2 now) I plan to show her how to do this. These would be great for her to make and give to her grandmas.

Glad you like them…my daughter and her grandma had fun making them together and I know any grandma (or mom) would love them as a gift from their grandkids 😀
